A native Houstonian, Tom Schmidt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/International Politics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is also an Honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review. Before starting his private practice, Mr. Schmidt practiced at two of Houston’s premier litigation boutique firms (Clements, O’Neill, Pierce, & Nickens, LLP, and Hicks, Thomas & Lilienstern, LLP), where he helped represent major corporate clients such as Eastman Kodak, Mitchell Energy, Burlington Resources, the King Ranch, Enron Oil & Gas, Union Pacific Resources, and General Electric. During his career, Mr. Schmidt has had experience dealing with corporate governance, securities issues, corporate finance, business formation, marketing, and management. Mr. Schmidt now practices in the area of commercial litigation, with a focus on shareholder and partnership disputes. Mr. Schmidt is not certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
